Hospitality Services & Fees

Butler Department Launch Services and Existing Butler Department Fine-Tuning Services are based on achieving the standards of butler service delineated in the Hotel Butler Rating System. They can be adapted to the specific needs of your property.

Fees are adjusted to align with economies in each country. While the Institute generally charges more than other providers, it does try to work within budgets. If a large number of butlers need to be trained, either more than one trainer may be brought in or the training period may be lengthened in order to provide the personalized attention necessary to bring about the best results.

Butler Department Launch Services

1. Butler Program  Length: 3 days

Purpose: To train in basic level butler skills at least cost
Curriculum: Basic butler skills taught and practiced until they can be done, plus provision of basic SOPs for these skills

2. Butler Program     Length:7 days

Purpose: To institute basic butler services and organization
Curriculum: Basic butler skills and mindset training, organizing the butler department, from equipment & supplies to SOP creation

3. Butler Program       Length: 12 days

Purpose: To provide all butler services, SOP creation, and apprenticeship
Curriculum: Basic butler skills, full mindset & attitude training, setting up and organizing the butler department including SOP creation, apprenticeship through soft and/or hard openings.

4. Butler Program       Length: 20 days

Purpose: To help create a full and standard butler department that provides a full range of services and is set up to operate smoothly.
Curriculum: All butler skills, more advanced mindset & attitude training, setting up and organizing the butler department including SOP & manual creation, apprenticeship through soft and/or hard openings.

5. Butler Program       Length: 30 days

Purpose: To help create a superior butler department that provides the top range of services to the most exclusive of clientele.
Curriculum: All butler skills, advanced mindset & attitude training, setting up and organizing the butler department including SOP & manual creation, extended apprenticeship.

Add-ons
All training programs include one-on-one assessments, graduation with certificates, full reports, media and internal PR assistance, and ongoing long distance support thereafter.

Additional Services
The Chairman of the Institute, whether on site or long-distance, can also provide marketing & PR consulting & support services, including writing and photography for in-house or press/media efforts concerning promoting the butler service for optimal return on the investment; as well as HR consulting and support concerning butler performance and retention.

Existing Butler Department Fine-Tuning Services

1. Butler QC Program       Length: 2 days

Purpose: To provide a basic level Quality Control service at least cost
Services: Brief inspection and analysis of the existing scene (including on a “secret shopper” basis). Two four-hour training periods (one for each shift) for the butlers to address the most fundamental issues. Full report with recommendations for further improving services.

2. Butler QC Program       Length:4 days

Purpose: To provide a Quality Control service that addresses and resolves key issues in providing butler service to genuine guest satisfaction
Services: Inspection and analysis of the existing scene (including on a “secret shopper” basis). Six four-hour training periods (three for each shift) for the butlers to address and be coached/drilled into competence. Full report with recommendations for further improving services, SOPs, particular individuals, and the organization.

3. Butler QC Program       Length: 7 days

Purpose: To reaffirm basics of the profession, as well as put in place a wider range and improved caliber of service.
Services: Inspection and analysis of the existing scene (including on a “secret shopper” basis). Twelve four-hour training periods (six for each shift) in which weak areas are strengthened in terms of mindset/attitude, communication skills, and specific service skills, and new ones introduced. The SOPs and organization of the department is also fine-tuned. Full report with recommendations for further improving services, SOPs, particular individuals, & the organization.


4. Butler QC Program       Length: 12 days

Purpose: To bring all services to the industry standards
Services: Inspection and analysis of the existing scene (including on a “secret shopper” basis). Eighteen 4-hour training periods (nine for each shift) to address any weak areas & institute new services, and so achieve the Four Butler Rating level. A day of executive training and a day of apprenticeship for the Butler Managers/Head Butlers. Full report with recommendations for ongoing improvement of services, SOPs, particular individuals, & the organization of the department.

5. Butler QC Program     Length: 14 days

Purpose: To provide quality control and help achieve or re-affirm the highest standards for the industry.
Services: As in Butler QC Program 4, with additional days spent on fine-tuning in the classroom as well as en suite/apprenticing, the skills of the butlers dedicated to a single suite.

All training programs include one-on-one assessments, graduation with certificates, full reports, media and internal PR assistance, and ongoing long distance support thereafter.
